NY Driver in Critical Condition in Stamford after Hitting a Utility Pole

In Stamford, the Stamford Police Dept Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating a motor vehicle crash in the area of 690 Atlantic Street, with is near exit 8 of I-95 and south of the highway at approximately 11:52 am on Friday.

On Friday night Stamford Police issued a press release saying patrol officers responded to a report of an SUV that had crashed into a utility pole with the airbags having deployed.

Upon arrival of first responders, the operator, a 71 year-old New York resident was unresponsive and removed from the vehicle by the Fire Department, who immediately administered medical treatment.

C.A.R.S. is investigating all aspects of this crash. Including the possibility that the crash was preceded by some type of medical episode.

The driver was transported to Stamford Hospital, where he was currently listed in critical condition.
