Greenwich Fire Dept Responds to Fire at Town Dump

Late Friday afternoon the Greenwich Fire Dept responded to the Holly Hill Transfers station where there was a large area of brush and debris burning.

The Fire Dept, assisted by DPW employees worked together to extinguish what they referred to as a deep seated fire.

Units stayed on scene for an extended period of time, including Engines 1,3,4, Truck 1, Squad 4 and cars 1, 4 and 5.

The Greenwich fire Marshal division was also on scene.

First Selectman Fred Camillo thanked the Fire Dept for preventing the loss of life and destruction of property.
