Greenwich Firefighters Local 1042 responded on Wednesday afternoon to a trailer fire on I95 northbound.
In a Facebook post they explained Engine 3 and Engine 2 were dispatched, and Car 4 and Engine 1 were added to the assignment once arriving units realized the size of the trailer.
Suppression operations were prolonged due to the large amount of items packed into the trailer.
The tow company was able to provide a heavy duty wrecker and a skid-steer to assist the fire dept with overhaul.
The highway was completely closed for a period of time while apparatus were arriving.
No injuries were reported and the incident was passed on to the Fire Marshals Office.
