Missing Headlight Leads to Arrest of Driver with No License, No Insurance

Over the holiday weekend police stopped a 2003 silver BMW 325i with Texas dealer plates on West Putnam Ave near Holly Hill for only having one headlight and improperly displaying a front license plate on the dashboard.

Police say the driver had no license or insurance. He only had a Guatemala passport for ID.

The driver, Wilmer Carranza, 19, from Port Chester said he had bought the car on Facebook Marketplace the previous week and had neither a driver’s license nor insurance.

He was cited for the Missing Front License Plate, Failure to have Two Headlamps, No License and No Insurance. He was released and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 16, 2021.

Police arranged to have the car towed from the scene.
