Greenwich Police Say 5 Tried to Steal Ferrari From Greenwich Home

Greenwich Police reported that on Wednesday around 9:15am they responded to a mid-country residence on a report of suspects trying to steal a car from a driveway.

Police say the suspects fled before getting the targeted vehicle, a Ferrari.

Greenwich Police were on the scene quickly and broadcasted the description of the two fleeing cars. From there, the dispatch center transmitted the information to police agencies in New York.

A short time later, New York authorities spotted the cars in that state, and were able to stop the cars and arrest five people.

The fleeing vehicles were both stolen. One car was stolen from New Jersey, and the other stolen from South Salem, NY.

A firearm was recovered in one of the cars.

On Tuesday, two cars were stolen from Greenwich around sunrise. These vehicles were then quickly recovered in the Bronx, NY.

The incidents from April 19 and 20 are both currently under investigation. They involve the Greenwich Police Department Detective Division and several police agencies.

The Greenwich Police Department reminded residents the best way to void being a victim of these crimes is to always lock cars and take keys, even when parking in the driveway or running an errand.
