DUI for Driver with Empty Beer Cans and Raw Marijuana in Vehicle

On May 3 Greenwich Police responded to a driving complaint around 1:00pm in the area of 276 Lake Ave.

When police arrived they were informed that the car involved was parked at the Chase Bank parking lot at 111 West Putnam Ave. Officers speaking to the driver, later identified by his CT driver’s license as David Sabrowski, 59, of Voluntown, CT, said they smelled alcohol.

Investigation revealed that Sabrowski had previously struck a car on Lake Ave.

Sabrowski did not perform field sobriety to tests to standard and when police searched his car they found raw marijuana and multiple empty beer cans.

He was arrested and charged with Failure to Maintain Proper Lane of Travel, DUI, Possession of Less than 1 oz of Marijuana. He was able to post his $200 bond and was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 14, 2021.
