DUI for Driver Going Wrong Way in Rotary, Hitting Parked Car

Greenwich Police charged a local man with DUI on Oct 2 just after midnight after they responded to the area of 355 Riverside Ave on a report that a parked car had been struck.

Police say that while speaking to the driver had the odor of alcoholic beverages and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving.

Investigation revealed that the driver had driven his vehicle the wrong direction in the area of the rotary at Riverside Ave and West End Ave before striking the parked car.

Police say the driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard. He was charged with Driving Wrong Way on Rotary, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, and DUI .02 BAC Under 21. His bond was set at $250 and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 30.
