Waste Free Greenwich Presents the ReThink Waste Fair

Waste Free Greenwich is hosting a #ReThink Waste Fair on Saturday, May 7 at the Christ Church Parish Hall from 11:00am-3:00pm.

The fair will be an engaging, family-friendly event that explores creative ways to “rethink” our waste through the 6Rs: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Rot.

Activities will include a free vintage clothing boutique, composting demo, sewing repair workshop, kids recycled art project, cooking demo, and more.

The fair will also have several collection areas for those hard to recycle items, like electronics, batteries, corks, and textiles.

Community members are encouraged to start collecting their items, bring them to the fair, and stay for the fun!

We are excited to be joined by several local community partners, who will be sharing practical tips for ways we can reduce what gets put into our waste stream. “We know that disposing of waste can be costly, both in terms of taxpayer dollars and the adverse health impacts on our environment,” said Waste Free Greenwich founder, Julie DesChamps. “We are excited to bring our local community together for a day of fun, giving back through donations of used items, and learning practical ways we can make a difference”.

Waste Free Greenwich thanks its community partners for their support and participation: Blue Earth
Compost, Curbside Compost, The Foodshed Network, Food Rescue US, Greenwich Conservation Commission, Greenwich Energy Management Advisory Committee, Greenwich Green and Clean, Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board, Greenwich Sustainability Committee, PYOOR, and Quiet Yards Greenwich.
