Perrot Library Presents: Plants First, A Virtual Book Discussion with Dr. Katie Takayasu

The Perrot Memorial Library will host a virtual book discussion with author Dr. Katie Takayasu on her book Plants First: A Physician’s Guide to Wellness Through a Plant-forward Diet.

The event is On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 7:00pm.

“Dr. Katie” will share how plant-based nutrition can help prevent disease and manage chronic illness.

Learn easy recipes and tips for introducing plant-based meals into your everyday diet. 

Katherine Wehri Takayasu, M.D., M.B.A. practices Integrative Medicine, combining traditional Western medicine with acupuncture, mind-body medicine, botanicals, nutrition, and lifestyle optimization. She’s an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian and teaches the next generation of doctors about healing the whole patient mind, body, and spirit.

Founded in 1904, Perrot Memorial Library is located in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, and is a private, 501(c)(3) institution, owned by the Perrot Library Association and affiliated (sharing a catalog) with the larger Greenwich Library system.  The Library located on Sound Beach Avenue includes a children’s wing, a selection of 28,000 children’s books, over 29,000 adult books, with several different collections ranging from CDs and DVDs/Blu-Rays to periodicals. The main library also offers meeting space, public computers and WiFi.

Youth Services and Adult Services host dozens of free programs throughout the year for Perrot members and the local community.  The library is temporarily closed to the public but contactless curbside pick-up is available as well as digital resources, including e-books and e-audio books.
