Old Greenwich Women Face Charges after Ingesting Illegal Narcotic Substance

Greenwich Police charged two women by warrant on July 2 for an incident on June 13 incident when police responded to a report of an unconscious female patient.

Investigation revealed that Magret Wood, 40, of Halsey Drive had voluntarily ingested an illegal narcotic substance.

She then succumbed to the drug and passed out. Police and GEMS performed life saving measures, reviving the woman and transporting her to the hospital.

Police say that the woman ingested the narcotic in the presence of two small children who were in her care.

Investigation revealed the second accused person, Sarah Wood, has also ingested the narcotic substance.

GPD Narcotics Section applied for and received a warrant through Stamford Superior court for the arrest of both women, Magret Wood, 40, and Sarah Brook Wood, 38, also of Halsey Drive in Old Greenwich.

Magret Wood was charged with Risk of Injury to a Child and Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her bond was set at $2,500.

Sarah Wood was charged with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her bond was set at $1,000.

Both women were able to post bond and have a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 17, 2020.
