Multiple Charges for Greenwich Man Driving Wrong Way on Putnam ave

A gray Jeep Grand Cherokee spotted driving in the wrong direction at 44 West Putnam Ave was pulled over on Saturday night.

At about 6:30pm on Dec. 27, Greenwich Police spoke with the Jeep’s driver, Alexander Laborne, 23, of 78 Northfield St, and determined he was driving without a license and had no registration card.

A strong odor of marijuana was coming from inside the Jeep and Laborne’s eyes were glassy and red, according to police. He was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests.

Further investigation revealed that Laborne’s two passengers were juveniles. Also, Laborne admitted ownership of two glass smoking pipes and a loose cigar in an open wrapper associated all determined to be associated with the recreational use of narcotics.

Laborne was placed under arrest and charged with Driving the Wrong Way, two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DUI, Driving Without a License, Failure to Provide Registration Card,  He posted $1,000 bond is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court Jan. 12.
