Man Known to Greenwich Police is Arrested for Failure to Appear in Court

On Dec 15 a Greenwich man known to Greenwich Police after several arrests beginning last summer was arrested again.

John Charles Whiteside, 57, of 60 Mason Street surrendered to Greenwich Police on an outstanding warrant stemming from a prior incident.

According to Greenwich Police back on Oct 12, 2018 Mr. Whiteside was reported to have forced entry into his former residence. Investigation revealed Mr. Whiteside had been evicted from a North Maple Ave address and unlawfully entered the residence, damaging the front door in the process was charged with Burglary 3 and Criminal Trespass 2.

Whiteside failed to appear in court for a scheduled court date and a judge issued a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear for which he was charged on Dec 15, 2018.

His bond was set at $25,000 which he was able to post. He has a date in Stamford superior Court on Dec 24, 2018.

Prior to this week’s arrest, back on on Sept 13 Greenwich Police determined that Whiteside had entered a room where a victim was and caused an annoyance and alarm. He was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass 1 and Disorderly Conduct.

Back on July 9, Mr. Whiteside was arrested at his then home on an outstanding warrant for charges stemming back to an incident on North Maple Ave on June 25.
