On the afternoon of April 19, Greenwich Police responded to an office at 4 Dearfield Drive on a report of a commercial burglary that had just occurred.

On scene investigation, along with video surveillance video, determined that William Trebing was responsible after having a social disagreement with a tenant.

According to Lt. Kraig Gray, Mr. Trebing broke into the office by bashing in the front door. Gray said the incident stemmed from a personal animosity from a previous incident.

Police obtained information that Mr. Trebing was in Stamford and located him at his residence. Police say Trebing was found wearing the same distinctive clothing as seen in the video surveillance.

Trebing was charged with Burglary 3 and Criminal Mischief 2.

He was assigned a court date in Stamford Superior Court on May 3, 2017.

Trebing was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
