Greenwich Woman Who Created Website for Grieving Local Family Charged with Larceny 4

Greenwich Police arrested a local woman by warrant on Monday on a charge of Larceny 4 for an incident on Sept 16th.

According to Greenwich Police Stephanie Burns Fox, 37, of Greenwich, turned herself in on an active warrant. The warrant stemmed from an incident in which Ms Fox created a website for a grieving family that had just lost their nine-year-old son to brain cancer.

GPD said numerous people within the Town of Greenwich donated gift cards to the family amounting to $1,780.

“After a thorough investigation it was clear that Fox took the gift cards intended for the grieving family without consulting with them, and gave them to whoever she saw fit,” police continued in their narrative.

Police said Ms Fox was deceptive in how she obtained the gift cards, changing the recipient e-mail address to one controlled by her, and was deceptive in what she did with them afterwards.

“She claimed that the gift cards were given to families in need from her Pay It Forward group that she runs, but she could not provide any evidence of such,” police added.

Police say Ms Fox was able to post her $10,000 court set bond as indicated on the warrant. She is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on November 14.
