Greenwich Man Who Passed out While Caring for Infant Charged with Strangulation, Disorderly Conduct

On Dec 9 around 1:00am Greenwich Police responded to central Greenwich on a report of an intoxicated man locked in a room with a seven-week-old infant.

After officers found the bedroom door locked and there was no response, police forced the door open.

Police say that on scene investigation revealed that prior to locking himself in the room with the infant, the offender, Tyler Olsen Davis, 32, of Bolling Place, had been drinking and had passed out with the infant in his care.

Further police said that Mr. Davis had put his hands on the adult victim’s neck and the victim had trouble breathing.

Davis was charged with Strangulation/Suffocate 2nd degree, Disorderly Conduct and Risk of Injury to a Child.

He was released on $5,000 bond and was assigned a date in court the same day as the incident.
