Greenwich Man Charged with Computer Crime

On June 3, a local man, Ian Kennedy, 39, of 13 Prospect Street West in Greenwich, turned himself in at Greenwich Police headquarters on an active arrest warrant.

Police say their investigation revealed that after Kennedy resigned from his employment he remotely accessed his former employers’ computers and deleted files. The incident allegedly took place on March 18, 2019 at about 3:00am.

According to Mr. Kennedy’s LinkedIn profile, he was employed by the Greenwich Board of Education as an IT Support Technician from Aug 2012 to March 2019.

Police charged Kennedy with Computer Crime 5th degree, a class B misdemeanor.

He was released after posting $10,000 bond and was issued a court date on June 17 in Stamford Superior Court.
