Greenwich Man Arrested by GPD For Third Time Since July

Greenwich Police arrested a local man for the third time since July.

On October 12 police responded to a report of a man attempting to break into a residence on North Maple Ave and fleeing on a bicycle.

While en route, officers observed the man, identified from previous incidents, as John Charles Whiteside, 57, of 60 Mason Street, formerly of North Maple Ave, riding a bicycle.

investigation revealed that Mr. Whiteside had been evicted from the North Maple Ave address and unlawfully entered the residence, damaging the front door in the process.

Whiteside was charged with Burglary 3 and Criminal Trespass 2. He was released on a $50 bond.

Back on Sept 13 Greenwich Police determined that Mr. Whiteside had entered a room where the victim was and caused an annoyance and alarm.

He was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass 1 and Disorderly Conduct. His bond was set at $1,000 which he was unable to post. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court the next day.

Back on July 9, Mr. Whiteside was arrested at his home on an outstanding warrant for charges stemming back to an incident on North Maple Ave on June 25.
