Greenwich Man, 22, Jumps into LI Sound Tidal Marsh to Avoid Arrest

Rolf Eyvind Klaeboe, 22, of 51 Forrest Ave., Apt 53 was arrested on multiple charges after police caught up with him over the town line in Stamford on Monday at about 10:00am.

Greenwich Police were investigating a complaint of several motor vehicles with items stolen in the Shore Rd, Old Greenwich area. The investigation led to police to the suspect, Rolf Klaeboe on Tomac Lane.

According to Greenwich Police, when Patrol Officer Carl Johnson went to place Klaeboe in custody, he jumped a stone wall and into a Long Island Sound tidal marsh at low tide.

A pursuit was initiated for Klaboe, which resulted in his apprehension in Stamford.

Klaboe was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Burglary in 3rd degree, Larceny 6th degree and Interfering with an Officer.

Unable to post a $10,000 bond, Klaboe was held in Greenwich Police custody and has a court date of Nov. 3 in Stamford Superior Court.
