Greenwich Business Owner Charged with DUI in Greenwich and Orange on Tuesday

On Tuesday Greenwich Police arrested “Lucy” Tsaparis-Skjelmose, 61, of Orange, CT on a warrant for Driving Under the Influence stemming back to an incident around noon on Sept 7, 2021. The incident took place in the area of Weaver Street and Glenville Road.

According to Captain Mark Zuccerella, Ms Tsaparis-Skjelmose had crashed into a guardrail.

According to the Judicial Branch website, the suspect is also known as Loukia Tsaparis. She was cited and fined by Stamford Police in 2013 for Possessing a Vicious/Barking Dog.

Ms Tsaparis-Skjelmose was in custody of Fairfield Police Dept when Greenwich Police traveled to that town to pick her up on Tuesday.

According to Orange Patch, the incident in Fairfield occurred at 3:15 pm at Exit 24 of I-95 when Tsaparis-Skjelmose was driving south and hit a stopped vehicle at the base of the ramp. She allegedly left the scene, but a police officer who had witnessed the incident pulled her over. After Police detected the smell of alcohol, Tsaparis-Skjelmose slurred her speech, and failed to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

After being charged in Fairfield with driving under the influence, evading responsibility and following too closely resulting in an accident, she was brought back to Greenwich where she was charged with No Seatbelt without Doctor Excuse, Illegal Operation of Motor vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drug and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane for the September crash. Her bond was set at $10,000. Ms Tsaparis-Skjelmose was able to post the required 10% of her bond and was released. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 9, 2022.

Orange Patch described Ms Tsaparis-Skjelmose a dog trainer who lives in Orange but runs her business out of Greenwich.

Patch said according to Fairfield Police, Tsaparis-Skjelmosel had three dogs in her car. Two of the dogs were not hers, according to police. The dogs were taken to animal control in Fairfield for safekeeping and were released to their owners that evening.

According to Tsaparis-Skjelmose’s LinkedIn page, she has been the owner of Wholistic Pet Service since March 2011, offering “Dog behavioral training, boarding, holistic nutrition & remedies’ advice,” and lists her Causes as “Animal Welfare, Health, Politics.”

Wholistic Pet Services – K9 Resort & Spa’s website was down on Friday, but its Google listing indicates it is located at 1 North St in Cos Cob.
