GPD: Improper Tail Lights Lead to DUI Charge

On Aug 11 around 1:30am Greenwich Police on patrol on West Putnam Ave stopped a car with improper tail markers.

Police say the driver, later identified as James Scarlata, 21, of Cos Cob had glassy bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol.

Scarlota was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard. He was arrested and charged with DUI, Operating Under Suspension and Improper Rear Marker Lamps.

He was able to post the required 10% of his bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Aug 25, 2021.
