DUI Charge for Woman Who Claimed to Be Ill during Motor Vehicle Stop

Greenwich Police caught up with a Stamford woman wanted for DUI and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane for an incident back on February 23 in the area of I95 exit 5 in Old Greenwich.

Back in February Greenwich Police stopped Luz Quintero, 26, of Bedford Street in Stamford for a motor vehicle violation.

At the time Quintero displayed signs and symptoms consistent with being intoxicated but she told police she was ill and was taken to the hospital.

Further investigation developed probable cause to believe Quintero was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and police obtained an arrest warrant.

This week Greenwich Police, who had a warrant for Quintero’s arrest, were at Stamford Superior Court when they were informed Quintero was in the building.

She was transported to Greenwich Police headquarters where she was processed and released on a $5,000 bond. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 19, 2019.
