Cos Cob Woman Faces Multiple Charges for Incident at Greenwich Catholic School

On March 1 Greenwich Police arrested a Cos Cob woman by warrant for an incident that took place back on Jan 31, 2019 around 6:30pm.

Laura Smith, 36, of Valleywood Rd in Cos Cob was charged with Reckless Driving, Risk of Injury to Child, Breach of Peace 2 and Reckless Endangerment 1.

Police say that on Jan 31 they responded to Greenwich Catholic School on a report of a reckless driving incident that had occurred earlier that afternoon.

According to Lt Slusarz there are gates at Greenwich Catholic that close vehicle access in order for school buses to depart. “Ms. Smith wanted to go in, drove around the gate and around some cones into an area where there are pedestrians.”

Police investigation revealed that Ms. Smith had operated her 2014 Mercedes Benz in a reckless manner and risked the safety of bystanders in the area as well a child who was within the vehicle at the time.

Smith was charged and released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 15, 2019.

According to Greenwich Catholic School, Ms. Smith does not have children enrolled at the school.
