Tri-State Trek is Major Inspiration: Team Greenwich Police Bikes 270 Miles for Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Team Greenwich Police rode in the Tri-State Trek to raise money and awareness for Lou Gehrig’s Disease, which took the life of their colleague Roger Petrone. We caught up with Team Greenwich Police at the “Roger Petrone rest stop” at John St and Riversville Rd at 2pm and then in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park at 3pm. We met some inspiring people from Team Good Folks and Team America. We met Steve Saling who was diagnosed with ALS in 2006 but is participating fully in life. What an inspiring event. Rich History of Byram: No Glue Factories, Slaughter Houses, Bone Boiling Establishment or Other Nuisances

Patricia Baiardi-Kantorski presented a slideshow on the history of Byram to a sold out house at Byram Shubert Library on Saturday morning. Her narrative covered the original farm homesteads, moved through the mills, foundries and factories of the industrial era, including the importance of the Byram River, and the development of neighborhoods. Developers’ deeds included caveats to prevent shantytowns and unsavory operations. A trolly once passed through Byram from Port Chester connecting via Greenwich Ave to the Post Rd and to Stamford.
