Eagle Project Gives American Eel a Workaround for Some of Greenwich’s 43 Dams

The culmination of Daniel Gazaille’s Eagle Scout project was satisfying indeed. On Thursday, Dan and several environmental science students from Greenwich High School collected dozens of baby eel from the foot of the dam by the old bolt factory on Comly Ave before driving them up to Camp Seton. For the eel, the detour meant avoiding having to climb a series of dams, which are manmade obstacles to their their survival. Holiday Lights on Greenwich Ave! ETA: November 20, 2015. TOTAL TREES: 175

According to the Light Up Greenwich team, who are working closely with Green & Clean, Greenwich will be dark and dismal again without lots of donations. A website LightUpGreenwich.org has been created and donations of $5 or $10 are much appreciated. These are everybody’s lights, all $32,000 worth!
