Corrine Cella, a senior at Greenwich High School, spent months researching five countries — France, Spain, China, Germany, and Italy — and incorporated that information into games and activities for the ESF campers at Greenwich Academy to enjoy this past summer. On Wednesday, day 6 of what will now be 8 days of public hearings to determine whether Mr. Yoon will keep his job as band director at GHS, Dr. McKersie insisted the band director’s singling out of students in front of peers was unprofessional. On his part, Mr. Yoon said there is a difference between being a teacher and a band director. Greenwich High School has reopened following a flood caused by a broken hot water tank in the the school’s science wing. “Until we have permission to open the wing, all science classes are meeting in the gym,” Kim Eves said in a statement. “The students are sitting on the floor with their teachers and teachers are conducting classes as well as possible. Some teachers are taking their classes to open computer labs, some are outside in the shade, some are conducting class in the Student Center, and some are remaining in the gym.” Continue Reading →
