Parks & Rec Dept: Renew Your Residency, Register for Beach & Tennis Passes

The Department of Parks and Recreation office is now open for in-person services from 8am to 4pm. However, residency renewals and 2021 Park Pass applications are only accepted online or by mail.

No in-person applications or renewals will be accepted.

Visit www.greenwichct.gov/residency to learn how to verify residency, establish a residency account, or renew an existing account for the 2021 calendar year.

A resident account provides access to the Department’s online system and allows one to utilize services at home or on the go. Services available online include: recreation program registration, park (beach) and tennis passes, tennis court and facility reservations, golf memberships and tee-time reservations, marine services, as well as ticket services for the skate park, ice rink, and single entry park passes.

• Residents are also reminded regular adult passes purchased prior to April 15 are $35.

• Passes purchased on or after April 15 will cost $40.

“Between quarantine and the winter weather, there is a big demand to get outdoors and enjoy our beautiful facilities. Our team has already processed thousands of households this year,” said Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Blaize Levitan. For the Department, high demand for Park Passes at this time is a good sign. The early-bird pricing structure approved by the Board of Selectmen earlier this year was designed to relieve pressure off the system in the run up to the Memorial Day Weekend.

“We have an excellent Customer Service Team,” said Director of Parks and Recreation Joe Siciliano, “If anyone has questions about their residency status, don’t hesitate to call or email us. We’ve also installed an iPad in the lobby of our office to help teach residents how to use the online system if they have questions.”

Residents 65 years old or older with an active Senior Park Pass do not need to renew residency this year. Senior Park Passes are good for three years and the current cycle is valid until 2022.

Given the current level of demand for residency renewals, expect it to take about 4-6
days for residency approval after submitting documents. Department staff have thousands of documents to review. Once residency approval is received, residents may then purchase 2021 Park Passes and other online services. The approval email will come from [email protected] .
