Marcia O’Kane, the president and CEO of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, announced recently that she is stepping down from her role after more than 13 years.
“Reimagined over 300 events. Hosted more than 150 After Six networking events and over 120 radio shows. Attracted hundreds of new members. Created countless sold-out programs. Branded Women Who Matter events. Supported our business community through the Covid shutdown. Performed as the face of local business as President & CEO of Greenwich Chamber of Commerce for over thirteen years,” she wrote in a farewell to Chamber members.
In her letter, she went on to say it had been a privilege to serve the local business community.
“Every day during my tenure, I have worked passionately to show everyone that our Chamber matters,” she continued, adding, “It is now time to turn the page and focus on my own entrepreneurial endeavors as I step down from my Chamber position.”
With a nod to the Chamber’s 107-year legacy, O’Kane, a resident of Riverside, said she hoped members would hello when they see her around town.
While O’Kane didn’t elaborate on her entrepreneurial plans, she previously served as director of the Stamford Senior Center, director of Finance and Administration at Person-to-Person, Inc., and was a vice president at Fairfield County Bank.
The Chamber has not yet announced O’Kane’s successor.
