Back by popular demand, Women Build, an affinity group of Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County, will host its third annual fun fundraising event – She Nailed It – on May 9 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center.
Women Build is raising funds through this event to build their 15th home in Fairfield County.
Registrations are filling up quickly and the event is already more than halfway to its goal of 32 teams, so participants are urged to register soon. At this event, teams of four women raise a minimum of $500 and compete in a nail hammering relay with the fastest team from each round moving on. While many prizes are offered, teams are really competing to win the coveted “bedazzled hammer” and bragging rights.
The event is co-sponsored by the Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation and Garden Catering.
Refreshments, wine and beer will be served. Spectator tickets can be purchased online (prior to May 9) for $25 or $35 at the door. For more information and guidance for registering a team, securing sponsorships and purchasing tickets, please visit www.habitatcfc.org/she-nailed-
Habitat CFC and Women Build help hardworking, low-income families achieve a better life while improving neighborhoods and their communities.
The program turns blighted properties into quality homes and transforms struggling families into tax-paying homeowners and valued members of our shared community.
Women Build empowers women to make a difference by learning new skills and using them to build homes for those in need.
Women Build recently completed its 14th home and is currently working on its 15th home to be completed this summer. “This event is unique and so much fun! There is no better way to get involved to support the building of decent, affordable housing for hard working families,” said Andrea Stone, Women Build Committee Chair.
