ART06870 in Old Greenwich announces an upcoming exhibition, 10² – Using Art as a Vehicle for Change.

Both an exhibition and fundraiser, the event is set for Saturday, October 5 at ART06870 Gallery from 6:00 to 8:00pm, with music from The Kovac Brothers. This is a fundraising exhibition in collaboration with the Greenwich Alliance for Education.

This event brings together over 100 national, regional, and local artists in a remarkable display of creativity and community engagement. In a unique full-circle event, professional artists give back to the community by enabling workshops that will reach thousands of children in the area.

In a unique full-circle experience, professional artists are giving back to the community by enabling workshops that will reach thousands of children in the area. These workshops will be conducted at the Boys & Girls Club, with additional locations in schools, local museums, and galleries.

Two of the four student artists represented in the show (elementary, middle school, high school and collage ) have been part of workshops that will be funded with your support and collaboration. Both of these amazing young creators have benefited from these programs. Contributed photo

This exhibition is the highlight of the gallery’s history since opening just over a year ago, with one of our main goals being to build a vibrant art community and give back to the children in the area.

This event is in collaboration with Greenwich Alliance for Education and proudly supported by The Developing Artist Program, made possible with generous grants from the Greenwich Alliance, Connecticut Dept of Economic and Community Development, the Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) and supplemental support for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

Each artist has contributed a 12 x 12” panel of original artwork, available for auction at a set price of $300. The proceeds will support art workshops designed to enrich the lives of children. These workshops, conducted at the Boys & Girls Club and at additional locations in local schools, museums, galleries, and studio spaces, will provide creative outlets for thousands of children.

In addition to being artists, the organizers – Michael Manning, Christian Salvati and Ben Quesnel – are also educators, actively working in local schools and at the Boys & Girls Club.
