Incoming 9th Grade, Kindergartners and New Students Must Verify Residency to Attend Greenwich Schools

Greenwich Public Schools Residency staff will conduct additional night and weekend residency verification sessions ahead of the August 4, 2017 deadline to comply with Greenwich Public School Policy and Connecticut General Statute § 10-186(b)(1).

Policy requires all students entering 9th grade who will remain in the Greenwich Public School System, as well as all incoming Kindergarten students and students new to the District, to verify residency prior to enrollment.

In addition to the regular Residency staff business hours of Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm, additional verification hours will be conducted on:

• Thursday: July 13, 2017 – 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm

• Thursday: July 20, 2017 – 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm

• Saturday: July 22, 2017 8:00 am to 12:00 Noon

As of July 10, Greenwich Schools report that 25% of incoming 9th grade parents have yet to complete the verification process.

Failure to verify by the August 4, 2017 deadline may result in a mandatory hearing at the Board of Education requiring demonstration of proof of residency in Greenwich.

All applicable forms and additional information are available at the Greenwich Public Schools website: www.greenwichschools.org/residency.

The Residency office is located at the Havemeyer Building, 290 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich.
