Greenwich Schools Special Education Program Coordinator Appointed Parkway School Assistant Principal

Jeffrey Libby will become Parkway School Assistant Principal, effective July 1, 2017.

The appointment was announced on Monday by interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sal Corda, in consultation with incoming Superintendent Dr. Jill Gildea.

An educator for 33 years, the last twenty of which have been with the Greenwich Public Schools, Mr. Libby has extensive knowledge and experience as a teacher, coach and administrator.

As a Special Education Program Coordinator since 1999, Mr. Libby has spent many hours in classrooms across the District and is adept at making the curriculum meaningful and accessible to all learners.

Incoming Parkway Principal Mary-Teresa Grandville said, “I am thrilled by the appointment of Mr. Jeffrey Libby as the new Assistant Principal of Parkway School. Mr. Libby has had a long and distinguished career as a special educator and administrator in the Greenwich Public Schools. His extensive experience, excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of the Parkway School community will serve him well in his new role. Mr. Libby has been a colleague and friend for the last seventeen years and I am excited to have him as my partner in leading Parkway School!”

The search for a new Special Education Program Coordinator will begin immediately.

Mr. Libby began his career in education as a special education teacher at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA in 1984. He then worked as a special educator in Concord, NH, San Francisco, CA, and New York City, NY from 1988 to 1997 before coming to the Greenwich Public Schools as a special education teacher and coach.

As a special education administrator since 1999, Mr. Libby’s extensive knowledge of pedagogy, instructional best practices and inclusion strategies are well known and admired. He has extensive training in Universal Design for Learning and serves on the District’s teacher evaluation committee known as TEPL II.
