Would-Be Greenwich Burglar Extradited from New Jersey

Greenwich Police, armed with a felony arrest warrant for Shakir Major, traveled to the Wagner Youth Correctional Facility in Bordentown, NJ on October 17  to extradite him to Connecticut.

Major’s charges in Greenwich stemmed from an attempted residential burglary on Clapboard Ridge Road back on April 19.

The felony arrest warrant for Major, 27, was issued on Friday, Oct. 17 by Judge Hudock of Stamford Superior Court on the charges of Criminal Attempt at Burglary, Possession of Burglar Tools and Criminal Trespass.

According to Greenwich Police, Major, of Teaneck, NJ, is serving a 17 year sentence for Burglary in his home state. His arrest by Greenwich Police was the result of a month long investigation in conjunction with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s office.

Major was taken into custody by Greenwich detectives in New Jersey 10:00am, handcuffed, searched, verbally advised of his Miranda Warnings and transported to Greenwich Police HQ. He was processed on the above charges and given a court date of Oct. 24, 2014.
