Police Chase Ends in Crash on I-95 by Exit 2

Greenwich Police on patrol in Byram on Jan. 3 at around 1:00am observed a vehicle traveling west on Ritch Ave. with no headlights illuminated.

When police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop, the car, a 2006 Ford Freestyle, sped away.

After a brief pursuit the driver, Steven Rodas, 24, of 244 South Regent St in Port Chester crashed on 195 just north of exit 2. No occupants were injured.

Investigation on scene determined that Rodas had stolen the vehicle from an acquaintance who resided at Armstrong Court.

Rodas was arrested for Engaging Police in Pursuit, Failure to Have Lights Illuminated, Criminal Trespass 1st Degree and Larceny 2nd Degree.

Rodas was unable to post his $25,000.00 bond and was placed in a holding cell. He is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on January 12, 2015.
