Patient Police Work Leads to Arrest of Greenwich Man for Operating a Drug Factory Near Daycare

After receiving information that a Greenwich resident was selling prescription pills and marijuana, Greenwich Police conducted a six month long investigation and numerous hours of surveillance.

The Narcotics Section obtained three search and seizure warrants, one for the person of Marvin Gaspar, 27, of 67 North Water Street, one for his cell phone and one for his residence, which is in a second floor apartment.

On October 4, Greenwich Police detectives executed the warrants, finding numerous Xanax pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials and a digital scale in Mr. Gaspar’s bedroom.

Additionally a sawed off shotgun was found in Mr. Gaspar’s bedroom closet wrapped inside clothing inside a backpack.

Pat A Cake Playschool is located at #40 Gold Street, which is approximately 1,056 feet from Gaspar’s residence and preferred point of sale.

Gaspar was arrested and charged with Possession of a Sawed Off Shotgun, Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance within 1,500 ft of a Day Care,  Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to sell within 1,500 ft of a Day Care, Operating a Drug Factory, Possession of Marijuana Under 4 oz, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana under 4 oz within 1,500 ft of a Day Care, and Possession of Marijuana under 4 oz with Intent to Sell within 1,500 ft of a Day Care..

His bond was set at $100,000 which he was unable to post. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 18, 2017
