Home Burglarized in Glenville with Resident Upstairs

police stationAt approximately 12:00 on Wednesday, April 29, a private residence on Pecksland Rd had its rear door smashed and the residence burglarized by an unknown person(s).

According to Greenwich Police, at the time of the burglary, the residence was occupied by a lone 23-year-old female resident who was preoccupied with her own activities on the 2nd floor and did not investigate what she described as “a crash off in the distance.”

The burglary was not reported until a second resident came home and found the rear door forced open and the home partially ransacked. The residence is situated so that it cannot be seen from the public road nor by any of its neighboring properties.

Investigators are operating under the theory that the suspect or suspects forced their way inside the residence likely believing that it was unoccupied.  At some point they realized the residence was occupied and fled.

No contact was made between the burglars and the female occupant.
