Observant Police Snag Driver in Cos Cob around 2:30am

Greenwich Police in the area of Post Rd and Sinoway Rd in Cos Cob on Sunday, June 21 around 2:30am, spotted a vehicle traveling east on Post Rd and stop beyond the stop line for the red traffic control signal.

According to Greenwich Police, the driver Denis Franco-Morales, 22, of 95 Frederick Street in Stamford then continued east on Post Rd and his front right tire came into contact with the granite curb.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted. On scene investigation by Greenwich Police Officers determined Denis Franco-Morales was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Franco-Morales submitted to a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he was not able to perform to standard. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Unsafe Movement. Mr. Franco-Morales was able to post his $250 bond and assigned a court date of July 6 at Stamford Superior Court.
