Multiple Charges for Man Who Drove Erratically from Tod’s Point to Sound Beach Ave

On Friday Greenwich Police arrested a man on outstanding warrant for an incident on Sound Beach Ave in Old Greenwich last month.

Around 5:00pm on Feb 15, when Tod’s Point was going to close for the day, Greenwich Police received a report of a person who may have been intoxicated at the beach. They received a second report of a person who might be injured at the beach and then gotten into a car and driven out of the beach erratically.

A short time later a Greenwich Police officer spotted the car traveling north on Sound Beach Avenue, and attempted to initiative a motor vehicle stop. Instead, the car rear-ended a car heading north, just south of Old Greenwich School. That car went into the car in front of it, for a total of three damaged cars.

The driver was taken to the hospital and police launched an investigation.

On March 16, David Brendan Pastore, 39, of 15 Grand Street in Greenwich was charged with Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, Speeding, Reckless Driving, Engaging Police in Pursuit, Driving Under the Influence of Liquor or Drugs, Failure to Drive Right, Driving Wrong Way on a One Way Street, Following Too Closely, and Failure to Obey Stop Sign (2 counts).

He was able to post his court set bond of $20,000.

Pastore was known to Greenwich Police. In January police responded to Valley Rd in Cos Cob on Sunday on a report of someone sending harassing and threatening text messages over a period of three days. Mr. Pastore was charged with Harrassment 2.
