UPDATE: Preliminary Medical Examiner Report Suggests Suicide in Death of Missing Woman

Greenwich Police HQ, Bruce Place - Greenwich Free PressUpdate, Nov 14: Greenwich Police Lt Kraig Gray said that based on the preliminary report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the manner of death manner of death for the woman found deceased a short distance from her home on Saturday was suicide.

But, Lt. Gray said, “We’re waiting for the concluding report form the OCME.” But the initial finding is that the manner of death is suicide.” He added that a conclusive report will require further investigation.

Original Story, Nov 13:  Greenwich Police announced on Saturday afternoon that a 49-year-old Greenwich women who had been reported as missing was found deceased a short distance from her residence earlier in the day.

At approximately 7:30 am, a Greenwich couple reported their adult daughter was missing since sometime Friday afternoon.

Officers of the Greenwich Police Department as well as a Stamford Police K-9 unit, responded to the scene to search for the missing women.

At approximately 10:30 am, a Greenwich Police officer assigned to the Patrol Division located the women a relatively short distance from her Steep Hollow Lane residence.

The deceased was located in the woods near a pond on Old Stone Bridge Rd.

The full circumstance regarding this unexpected, but non-suspicious death is being investigated by the Greenwich Police Department Detective Division.

No further information regarding the investigation will be released prior to the determination of the manner of death by the OCME.

The name of the deceased is being withheld to allow the parents of the deceased to notify their extended family personally.
