Man Charged with Risk of Injury to Minor and Assault at McDonald’s

Greenwich Police arrested a man following a report of an assault in McDonald’s on West Putnam Avenue on Dec 24 around 11:00am.

According to Greenwich Police, the suspect, Donald A Rockness, 76, who has two addresses – one in New York, NY and one on Lake Ave in Greenwich, reportedly  tried to strike up a conversation with someone in line at McDonald’s who ignored him. Mr. Rockness then struck the person’s back with an open hands more than once.

Then, according to Lt Slusarz, the suspect walked over to a family eating at the fast food restaurant and kissed a juvenile member of the family on the cheek, resulting in a Risk of Injury to a Minor charge in addition to Assault 3 and Disorderly Conduct.

Mr. Rockness has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 8, 2017. His bond was set at $5,000, which he was not able to post at the time of his arrest.
