On July 15, numerous Greenwich Police units were detailed to Greenwich Country Club to respond to a report of a suspicious man attempting to leave the men’s locker room.
The man, later identified as Jeffery Ziegler, 32, of Bonita Springs FL, was observed going through a member’s gym bag in the locker room.
Ziegler, who was not a member of the club and did not have any affiliation with any member, admitted to looking into the gym bag , but also related he did not take anything.
Investigation further revealed that Ziegler had a suspended license. He was stopped in the parking lot while operating a vehicle, and arrested for Criminal Trespass 2nd degree, Criminal Attempt (Larceny 6th), and Operating a Motor Vehicle while under Suspension.
Ziegler was released on a $250 cash bond and assigned a court date of July 22 in Stamford Superior Court.
