Man Arrested for Firing Shotgun in Grass Island Park

Geenwich Police arrested a man who allegedly fired a shotgun in Grass Island park on Oct 20 around 2:30 am.

Upon arrival in the park, officers located Richard D Francisco, 74, of 16 North Water Street, who admitted to having discharged a shotgun twice.

The shotgun was discharged in the vicinity of pedestrians who were in the park, causing alarm.

The discharge was aimed into the waters of an active marina and in the general direction of docked boats.

Mr. Francisco was arrested and charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Breach of Peace 2. He was assigned a court date on Nov 3, 2017 in Stamford Superior Court. His bond was set at $250, which he was unable to post at the time of the arrest.
