Greenwich Driver Charged after Hitting Pedestrian and Leaving the Scene

On Oct 19, Greenwich Police were dispatched to an accident at the intersection of Field Point Rd and Brookside Road involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle that fled the  scene.

Witnesses on scene were able to identify the car, which was later located at a residence in the Greenwich. Witnesses also reported that the vehicle had briefly stopped in the roadway prior to driving away.

Nadine Andrea Maluenda, 23, of 88 Richmond Hill Road in Greenwich was arrested and charged with Evading Responsibility. She has a court date in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 2 and was released on a $250 bond.

The pedestrian had been crossing the street after exiting a commuter bus, and was not in a designated crosswalk area. The pedestrian was issued a written warning for Illegal Use of a Highway by a Pedestrian.

Maluenda, who was located with her car, admitted that she had been involved in a car accident with a pedestrian and had left the scene.
