Greenwich Police Assist in Multi-Agency Robbery Investigation

Greenwich Connecticut Police Department assisted the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Cortlandt in an investigation leading to the arrest of two men following a recent armed robbery of a Mobil Station in the Town of Cortlandt, NY.

With the assistance of the State Police Violent Felony Warrant Squad and the Special Investigations Unit, Michael Caccavale, age 35, of Yonkers, NY, was arrested following an intense search conducted in the Washington Heights section of New York City during the early morning hours of April 2.  Caccavale was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.

The second defendant, Nicholas Fiore, age 24, of Yonkers, was arrested following a traffic stop conducted in Yonkers on March 30. He has also been remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

Caccavale and Fiore have also been implicated in armed robberies in Dutchess and Rockland County in New York and multiple jurisdictions in the State of Connecticut, and additional charges are expected.

The State Police were also assisted in this investigation by the Town of Clarkstown Police, the Village of Wappinger Falls Police, the Connecticut State Police, the Norwich (Connecticut) Police Department, the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office, and the FBI.
