UPDATE: Greenwich Police & Fire Emergency Phone Lines Down; 911 Is Working

UPDATE: 1:00pm: Limited phone service restored on primary Police and Fire Dispatch lines. “We have no transfer abilities and calls to direct extensions may be answered by dispatch. 911 continues to operate normally,” Greenwich Police said around 1:00pm on Monday.

Original Story 9:55am: Greenwich Police Captain Kraig Gray issued an audio release on Monday morning to say that the both the police and fire department’s routine telephone lines are down, though 911 is working normally.

“Currently we are experiencing difficulty with our non emergency phone line. Once the system is back up and running, there will be another notification,” Gray said.

Residents may dial 911 with urgent, but non-emergency matters, until the problem is resolved.
