UPDATE: Greenwich Fire Dept Responds to House Ablaze on Riverdale

Update, Friday 2:30pm. According to Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray, at approximately 1:56 am, the Greenwich Police received a call about a structure fire in a two-family house on Riverdale Ave.

The Greenwich Police Dept went over and shut down the road with assistance from the Port Chester Police Dept. to ensure a safe condition for the fire fighters.

According to Lt. Kraig Gray, no one was injured in the fire, though there was property damage.

The fire is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.

Greenwich Fire Department responded to a fire in the early morning hours on Friday on Riverdale Avenue.

A neighbor called 911 to report seeing flames shooting from the roof.

The fire is under investigation and there is no word yet on whether anyone was hurt.

The fire marshal Chris Moynahan was unavailable for comment Friday morning. This story will be updated when information becomes available.
