Elderly Greenwich Man Charged with Interfering with an Officer

On May 11, at about 8:30am, Greenwich Police responded to North Water Street and New Street in Byram on a complaint of a boat that had fallen off a trailer and was blocking traffic in the road.

Police found Carl V Jensen, 80, 164 N Water St, who was having problems operating his vehicle and almost backed into a friend who was helping him load the boat onto the trailer.

While an officer was on scene, attempting to gather information pertaining to the boat and trailer, Jensen became belligerent and verbally aggressive. He refused to cooperate and actively argued with investigating officer, preventing her from performing her duties.

Jensen was arrested for Interfering with an Officer and released on a promise to appear in court on May 18 in Stamford Superior Court. He was issued an infraction Operating an Unregistered MV (trailer) and 14-271b Unsecured Load.

Jensen’s Driver’s License was seized and he was recommended for retesting due to his age and mental status.
