Duo Face Drug Charges after Motor Vehicle Stop on Stanwich

Around 2:30am on Monday, Greenwich Police stopped a car driving on Stanwich Rd after it was observed failing to maintain its lane.

While speaking with the driver, later identified as Julian Vasquez, 37, of 1975 Birchall Ave in Bronx, NY, Mr. Vasquez attempted to hide a bag of suspected cocaine. Officers located additional bags of cocaine.

When the passenger in the car, Stephanie T Womble, 49, of 265E 176th Street in Bronx, NY, opened her shoulder bag the police officer observed several prescription pills loosely stored at the bottom of the bag for which Womble did not have a prescription. One of the pills was a Schedule 4 Narcotic. Officers also located an empty wax fold which had contained Heroin in Womble’s shoulder bag.

Mr. Vasquez was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine. He was also issued an infraction for Failure to Drive Right.

His bond was set at $1,000 which he was unable to post. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 19, 2018.

Womble was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Illegal Storage of Narcotics. She was assigned a court date on Feb 19, 2018. Her bond was set at $500 which she was unable to post.
