Back Country Greenwich Woman Charged with Evading

Shari Gay Lampert of 8 Old Round Hill Lane in Greenwich was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 18 around 7:00pm after police responded to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car parking lot at Edgewood Ave.

Upon arrival of Greenwich Police the vehicle had left the area, but while exiting the parking lot onto Edgewood, the vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Further investigation revealed the driver’s identity to be Shari Lampert.

Officers responded to Old Round Hill Lane and conducted a motor vehicle stop on the evading vehicle. Ms. Lampert’s identity was confirmed, as well as the damage to both vehicles.

A license-check for Lampert revealed she was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle without an interlock ignition device.

Lampert was charged with Evading Responsibility and Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Ignition Device.

According to the CT Judicial Branch website, Lampert was found guilty of Larceny 2nd degree, a Felony, on Feb 24, 2014 for an incident stemming back to June 29, 2014. She was sentenced to one year Jail / Execution Suspended / Probation 3 Years.

More recently, she was found guilty of probation violation in Feb. 9, 2016.

Lampert has a date in court scheduled for Sept. 1, 2016.
