4th of July DUI Results after Greenwich Police Stop Car with No Headlights

At about 3:30am on July 4, Jeffry F Sagastume of 23 Aquila Rd in Stamford was stopped by Greenwich Police officers on patrol in the area of Delavan Avenue near Tingue Street.

Sagastume’s vehicle was observed traveling east on Delavan Avenue with its headlights off. A motor vehicle stop was conducted. Through further investigation, the driver, was identified as Sagastume. The odor associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages was detected emanating from his person and breath. Sagastume was asked to submit to a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he subsequently did not perform to standard.

Sagastume was placed under arrest and charged with Operating Under the Influence andFailure to have headlamps lit. He was issued a court appearance date of July 13 at Stamford Superior Court. Sagastume was able to post bond and was released.
