Greenwich Youth Film Festival: Contest Entry Deadline is Feb. 23

The Junior League of Greenwich has extended the entry deadline for the Greenwich Youth Film Festival to Monday, February 23, 2015.

Entries will be accepted in six genres: Creative, Documentary, Music Video, Animation, Social Action and Experimental. The contest is open to all high school students who either reside in or attend school in Fairfield or Westchester counties. Students can visit the JLG website for details and entry form.

Screen Shot 2015-02-09 at 11.17.59 AMThe top film submissions will be shown at the Greenwich Youth Film Festival on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cole Auditorium in the Greenwich Library. A total of $4,750 in cash prizes will be awarded. The student whose film is selected as the best overall entry across all genres will be awarded the Grand Prize of $1,000. Winners of the other genres will each be awarded $500. An award of $100 will be given to all second place genre winners, and an award of $50 will be given to all third place genre winners. An award of $250 will be given to the Best Freshman Film, and an award of $100 will be given to the Best Movie Poster.

The Junior League of Greenwich has been bettering the community for over 50 years. It is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained individuals.
